31 days of January

One of my New Years resolutions was to journal more often. Ugh that has became so hard for me! Pictures will have to do for now.
January has been great but I honestly thought it would never end. Ha ha I swear Christmas was at least 6 months ago?! Ha ha oh well, life is good.

she's here

The past 17 days have been some of the very best of my life. Being a mama to this sweet babe is better than i could have ever imagined. I'm sleep deprived beyond belief but it's so worth it. There is no way people can describe what it's like to have a baby of your very own.I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect-but looking back I was so wrong.  The moment they laid that blue, slimy, crying baby on my chest I knew my life would never be the same. I never knew you could love something so deeply-instantly. It still blows my mind. She is mine and Nate's whole world and I couldn't be more grateful that she was sent to US. We are the luckiest.

this is really happening

-bags are packed
-baby clothes are washed
-house is cleaned
-sheets are washed
-car is vacuumed and car seat installed
-lawn is mowed
-work tasks are all caught up

This is Really Happening!
I still can't believe it. I don't think my mind can even comprehend what is about to take place. It is the most surreal feeling. All I know is I am READY and so stinkin' excited to meet our baby girl. It's been weird these last couple of weeks knowing that one chapter of our lives is closing and a whole new one is about to begin.

This last weekend I started feeling all sentimental and a little sad telling Nate that I couldn't believe this would be the last of the countless carefree, fun, exciting weekends of just him and I. We have sooo enjoyed these last 3 years of spontaneous adventurous and countless memories-I'm of course a little sad to see them end. But you know what? I really am ready for this next step in our lives.A baby is worth the sacrifice in my eyes.  and if we are anything like I think we are the adventures and fun times won't stop just because we have a little babe. We will just have someone else to bring along for the ride! How fun is that?? I'm so excited to show her all the good this world has to offer.
I can't think of anyone else  I would rather experience the wild ride of parenthood with than Nate. He really is more than I could have ever hoped for. (cheese alert) ;)

Well crazy to think the next time I look at this blog we will have a REAL LIFE BABY!! WAIT.WHAT??!!

34-35 weeks

35 Weeks! We are on the downhill side!!

Due Date:  June 25, 2016

Gender: Still a little girl!

Movement: I feel like she is constantly moving! She is close to 5 pounds now so every movement she makes is so much stronger than before. Its been way cool (and a little painful) to feel her little heels and feet hit right up in my ribs. We can also sometimes feel where her little bum is poking out and it is the cutest thing ever. We laugh that she will have a big booty just like her mama ;)

Feeling: Super Excited of course! Also a little overwhelmed. We really have slacked with our goal to have everything ready by May. Ha the nursery is still a work in progress and we may or may not have a crib.. It's fine though I work best under pressure and Nate is such a trooper at going along with my crazy DIY ideas.  As long as she doesn't decide to come too early!

Food Cravings: WATERMELON!!! I pretty much eat it everyday. I love it! Nate doesn't like it so I always laugh when I finish a bowl thinking "wow I literally ate that whole watermelon." but I don't even feel bad about it. Also Vanilla soft serve cones are still one one of my favorite treats.

Food Aversions: With it getting hotter outside I just don't want anything warm. Anything served hot like meat just doesn't sound good.

Clothes: I can't believe I have made do with the clothes that I have. I have literally bought two maternity items-one pair of maternity short overalls. HA HA and one pair of maternity shorts that I plan on returning -they just fit so weird. I am still getting by with wearing stretchy bottoms (skirts/shorts/leggings) and long or oversized shirts. I'm past the point to even care about buying maternity clothes-it just isn't worth it.

Stretch Marks: None as of now. Still using coconut oil and coco butter each night.

Sleep: I have been sleeping way way good! I wake up more frequently than before but I feel like when I'm asleep, I am deeply asleep. Hopefully that continues up until the very end

Symptoms: My stomach has definitely hit a growth spurt and I feel like it gets bigger and bigger everyday! Its crazy. I am noticing I'm starting to slow down a bit. I would kill for a nap at 2 pm everyday. ha by the time I get home from work I am usually pretty pooped. Also. I underestimate the size of my belly multiple times a day- running into things or knocking them over. It's pretty hilarious.

What I Miss: Sunny side up eggs!! & being able to go up stairs without breathing like I just ran a marathon! It's a real thing.

Best Moment: Obviously our Florida vaca last week was a definite highlight! It was so fun to spend time with Nate and my fam. We couldn't help but be excited for our next vacation when there are three of us instead of two. After we got home I felt very content and my travel itch had settled.  I felt so grateful to be able to be home and get ready for our little babe to join our family.

28 weeks

28 WEEKS!! Officially in the 3rd trimester!

Due Date:  June 25, 2016

Gender: A sweet baby girl!

Movement: Tons of movement! I Especially notice it at night- We love to watch my belly move all over as she has her little dance parties every night. When I wake up in the middle of the night she is almost ALWAYS moving which scares me just a tad. Luckily her movements don't wake me but I'm really hoping she figures out the difference between day and night before she comes. Ha!

Feeling: I'm feeling so so grateful and just happy in general :) I've only had a few freak out moments but honestly nothing that different than usual. I'm also feeling excited...duh!

Food Cravings: Still addicted to pineapple. Also our neighbor brought us over homemade jam that I've been LOVING on my toast.

Food Aversions: Sushi still doesn't sound good to me which is weird because I used to LOVE it. Hopefully I will like it after the babe is born.

Clothes: Soo I'm still making due with normal clothes. I usually just wear jeggings/leggings with a longer shirt. I really need to buy some type of maternity jeans but I  haven't been in that big of hurry to. Plus I feel like this pregnancy is almost over why waste the money?? But I know I will probably NEED them eventually.

Stretch Marks: None as of now. Still using coconut oil and coco butter each night.

Sleep: I have been sleeping okay.. I feel like I wake up a lot in the middle of the night and my shoulders hurt from sleeping on my side. But it could be worse. I HAVE to have my little side pillow next to me or else I can not get comfortable.

Symptoms: No new symptoms as of now. My stomach is growing a lot which I'm grateful for. I feel like people can finally tell I'm actually pregnant!  My belly button is totally flattening out and it is the weirdest thing to see. It's been so neat to see my body transform to carry this babe. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

What I Miss: I miss sleeping on my stomach a lot. I will definitely be excited when I can comfortably do that again.

Best Moment: I of course loved going to the Dr. and seeing our little lady on the screen. She is measuring right on time and is already 2.5 lbs. Isn't that crazy?? I  also have loved when Nate and I are cuddling and he can feel every jolt and kick. It makes us both laugh and I just love it.

25 weeks!

25 WEEKS!! ahh time is flying so quick.

Due Date: still June 25, 2016-but I found out I can be started as early as June 18 and I'm totally thinking the sooner- the better!

Gender: Still a little girl. We can't wait to meet her!

Movement: Holy cow this little lady LOVES to move! Especially at night. It has been so fun to feel her. It truly is an indescribable feeling but I absolutely love it. Nate has been able to feel her kick multiple times which I  just love. It has become our nightly routine to lay in bed and feel what she is doing right then.

Feeling: Still feeling awesome! I go through phases of crazy excitement to crazy stress/worry. We (nate) ha! painted the nursery this week and it is all becoming a lot more real. When I walk past the room it's hard to imagine that a little human-OUR little human-will be sleeping in there in just a few short months! Ah I can't wait for that.

Food Cravings: Lately I've LOVED  ice cream. especially Watermelon sherbet. mm it's so tasty. I also am still addicted to pineapple as well as cold cereal. Honey nut cheerios have NEVER tasted so good to me. ha I usually have at least one bowl a day.

Food Aversions: I really can't think of anything. My diet hasn't changed much at all.

Clothes: Last week I tried on about 3 different pairs of jeans that all just felt TOO tight and very uncomfortable. I was kinda shocked but took it as a good sign.  I have pretty much been wearing leggings/jeggings since then. I need to invest in some good maternity jeans but all the ones I've tried on are just so awkward! I'll definitely have to figure something out. Also my loose fitting shirts work great but I never realized how many TIGHT v-necks I owned. Holy cow. I've seriously wondered how I ever fit in them and how I will ever fit in them again ha ha

Stretch Marks: None as of now. Still lathering up like crazy but I thought about it the other day and if I end up getting a few stretch marks for this babe I will be just fine. It's a small price to pay

Sleep: I've been sleeping really great. I've been more of a restless sleeper than usual but overall pretty great. I also notice I get tired a LOT earlier than usual and have a harder time getting up-but I figure since I'm growing a human I can get away with going to bed a little earlier ;)

Symptoms: Okay some weird ones I thought of. My gums usually bleed when I brush my teeth in the morning. totally weird. Also my hands fall asleep alot during the night which I read is totally normal. oh and the infamous pregnancy acne. That has definitely been the worst part. Hopefully that clears up by the 3rd trimester in a few weeks!

What I Miss: I miss sleeping on my stomach a lot. I will definitely be excited when I can comfortably do that again.

Best Moment: Honestly just preparing the baby nursery and day dreaming about what this little lady will be like. I'm so curious to see what she will look like and how she will act! Also I've loved seeing how excited Nate gets when I tell him to come feel my belly because she is moving. We are both so ecstatic and I really love it.

Definitely hit a growth spurt the past 2 ish weeks. I'm still kinda in that awkward stage where you can't tell I'm pregnant it just looks like my mid section is chubby. Ha I'm looking forward to that nice round bump.

20 weeks!!

20 Weeks (we are halfway there!!)

Due Date: June 25, 2016

Gender: It's officially a GIRL!! (the ultrasound tech confirmed 100% at our appt. last week.) To say we were shocked is a total understatement. I still can't believe it-we were just so sure it was going to be a boy. ha ha i don't know why? Everyone has told me they just pictured us with a boy and in my head I've always thought I'd be a  boy mom. But honestly, we could NOT be more excited! We love this little lady so much already and can't wait to meet her!

Movement: Okay so I was getting pretty bummed that I hadn't felt anything that I knew FOR SURE was the baby. But at my appt. the doc said my placenta is in front of her so it's kinda like she has to get through a pillow before I will feel movement. That made me feel so much better for some reason. It was crazy to see her just going crazy in their at my ultrasound- like how am I not feeling all that inside me?? ha ha but He said I should feel her in the next couple weeks. On Saturday night we were laying in bed just talking and laughing and I'm almost POSITIVE I felt her move. I was so excited! I told Nate to keep talking and maybe she would move more but she didn't. Ha I can't wait to feel her on a regular basis.

Feeling: I feel so good! How lucky is that??

Food Cravings: Lately I just want all the fresh fruit I can get my hands on! I can't tell you how delicious a juicy watermelon sounds to me right now. Ahh! But I've been able to buy some dang good pineapples so those will have to do for now.

Food Aversions: I honestly can't think of anything.

Clothes: All my clothes still fit but certain jeans get a little uncomfortable by the end of the day. I'm so ready to LOOK pregnant and at least be able to wear like stretchy pants or something. ha ha right now I just have muffin top and look like I've eaten a few too many pieces of cake..

Stretch Marks: Still  lathering on cocoa butter and coconut oil each night to keep nice and moisturized.

Sleep: I've been sleeping with this square pillow and it has made such a huge difference! I prop it under my stomach when I lay on my side and it makes everything much more bearable.

Symptoms:  I've been having a little bit of low back pain that kinda shoots down my leg and really hurts. Also sometimes while I'm exercising my lower stomach just aches. I'm sure its just my body getting ready to stretch and grow! (how amazing are bodies?)

What I Miss: This week I've missed being able to put 100% into my work outs. I've had to remind myself a few times to slow down or to reduce the weight on my bar. It's hard not to push myself like I'm used to but I know it's totally worth it.

Best Moment: Seeing our babe @ the ultraounds was definitley a highlifght! Also celebrating Nate's 27th bithday this weekend! Crazy to think when he turns 28 we will have a 8 month old! wait. what??
I took this pic this morning and was so excited to see a legit "bump"

17 weeks

I'm totally being one of *those* pregnant women and want to document everything I possibly can about this pregnancy. Sorrynotsorry.

17 weeks

Due Date: June 25, 2016

Gender: We know what we're having, but we're not telling "the world" until we're positive that all of our friends and family have been informed by us personally.

Movement: I'm trying so hard to "try" to feel something moving inside me, but nothing yet. The last two nights I've woken up in the middle of the night and swore I could feel something down there but pretty sure it was my mind. Ha. I can't wait to FEEL that babe inside of me!

Feeling: More excited than ever, now that we know the babies gender! and just happy in general.

Food Cravings: I still haven't experienced the "I need to have it and I need to have it NOW" feeling but I have been REALLY wanting a gelata from Zeppes. Even if it is 20 degrees outside a cold gelata just sounds amazing to me!! Like, is that too much to ask??

Food Aversions: The thought of sushi just makes me want to hurl- also tortilla chips gross me out lately. it's so weird.

Clothes: I'm in all regular clothes, although they're definitely fitting more and more snug each day. I've noticed I've been using the next hole on my belt which is crazy to think In a few a months that belt won't fit at all.

Stretch Marks: Still too early for that pretty sure. I'm lathering on cocoa butter and coconut oil each night to keep nice and moisturized

Sleep: I had a rough time sleeping this week because I've been trying to get used to not sleeping on my stomach or back. Yeah I totally hate it so I just decided I will sleep on my tummy from now on and enjoy it until I absolutely can't anymore.

Symptoms: None that I can think of! I have been so dang lucky.

What I Miss: Sunny side up eggs and raw cookie dough. (which I never really loved pre pregnancy-but now that I can't have it I just want it so bad!)

Best Moment: Finding out the gender of our babe! Also on Saturday night we did a little shopping and picked out some way cute stuff for baby. It was fun to see Nate actually excited about clothes for once. ;)

the bump is really wanting to poke through and I want it to as well. I'm sick of this awkward thickening stage.
